Tulsa Republican Club and Women For Tulsa DA Debate Set for Monday Evening

Tulsa, Oklahoma (April 15, 2026) — The Tulsa Republican Club and Women for Tulsa Republican Primary Debate for Tulsa County District Attorney will continue as scheduled on Monday evening, despite challenger Colleen McCarty declining to participate.

Event organizers confirmed that the debate will proceed with the remaining committed candidate, providing voters with an opportunity to hear directly from a contender in the upcoming Republican primary. While the format will be adjusted to reflect the absence of a second participant, the evening will still include moderated questions addressing key issues facing Tulsa County by event moderator – Skyler Cooper with KRMG.

“We remain committed to fostering an informed electorate,” said Christy Rawlings, Chair of Women for Tulsa. “Although we are disappointed that not all candidates chose to participate, we believe it is important to move forward and provide a platform for public dialogue.”

Organizers also noted that invitations were extended to both candidates more than two months ago, at the beginning of February, specifically to ensure adequate notice and ensure candidate availability. Organizers emphasized that the event reflects their continued effort to encourage transparency and voter engagement ahead of the primary elections.

“As organizers, our goal is to give voters a chance to hear directly from all candidates in a single setting. When a candidate chooses not to participate, it ultimately denies voters that opportunity and gives the participating candidate an unopposed platform,” stated Charity Marcus, Chair of the Tulsa Republican Club.

The debate is scheduled to take place Monday evening and is open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the candidate one on one after the program has ended. In addition, various candidates for other offices will be giving brief remarks.
